Clitheroe Ukulele Club and Orchestra - Clitheroe, Lancashire

In May 2013, as part of the Ribble Valley Jazz Festival, Valley Gigs - a music & arts promotion group based in the Ribble Valley - ran a ukulele workshop for adults and children. Such was the enthusiasm of the adults taking part that it was decided to start a ukulele group. This got underway in September 2013 and the number of players continues to grow.
The club rehearses each week and gives performances under the name of
"The Clitheroe Ukulele Orchestra"
The Orchestra has performed at a variety of places and events including The Grand Clitheroe, Oswaldwistle Civic Theatre, Townley Hall, Chipping Steam Festival, Burnley Mechanics, The Ribble Valley Jazz Festival and The Beatherder Festival.
They also perform regularly for residents in care homes and at community charity events.
The club meets weekly, alternating between the New Inn on Parson Lane, Clitheroe and St Michael & St John’s Parish Centre, Lowergate, Clitheroe.
