Eynsham Ukuleles - Eynsham, Oxfordshire

Eynsham Ukuleles is a small group of friends who meet up every week for fun. New members are always welcome, whether experienced or just beginners.

We occasionally play gigs at nursing homes, women's institutes and similar locations as well as local events. Contact us via the "Contact Us" page if you are interested in having us play for you.

Eynsham Ukuleles to Open SwanFest

Eynsham Ukuleles will be opening the festivities at SwanFest at The Swan Hotel in Acre End Street, Eynsham, at 2pm on Bank Holiday Monday (26th August).

SwanFest, which is in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, runs from 2pm to 7pm with music all afternoon from local bands, a barbecue, face painting and a raffle.

Meetings over the Christmas period will be as follows:-

Wednesday 19th December - informal session
Wednesday 26th December - no meeting
Wednesday 2nd January - informal session
Wednesday 9th January - normal meetings commence again

All these meetings will be the usual 7:30pm at The Swan.
West Witney Women's Institute - Wed 12th Dec

Another great gig last night for the West Witney W.I. I think it might also have been a record to have 14 of us there.

I received an email from the West Witney WI this morning in which they say:-

"On behalf of our members, I would like to thank you and your group of Ukelele players for entertaining us so well last night. I have received wonderful comments, members really enjoyed the evening."
Carterton Women's Institute - Tues 11th Dec

Great gig on Tuesday night for the Carterton Women's Institute, with great food and drink, well enjoyed by one and all. The singing, helped along by the audience, was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I think we got everything absolutely right (well almost...) Maybe we should always have a glass of wine at the start of a gig. You all did a great job. Many thanks to everyone who was there.

I was just going through USGB's Facebook page and came across an advert for their October meeting. One of the organisers has added a comment to it saying:-

"If you are a ukulele group send a representative or a contingent. The Eynsham group's reps visited in April and were brilliant on stage."

What more can I say?

New Songs Added

We have added several new songs to the song sheets page. Of course only memebers will be able to access this page.

The new songs are: Proud Mary, These Boots Are Made for Walking, Star Dust and I'm the Urban Spaceman.
Next Meeting

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 11th April at the White Hart. Start time will be as usual and there will be solo performances from John and also Chris.

Maybe the Leonard Cohen Group will also sing.
